Message from the ASCDAS President

Dear ASCDAS Member:

I am honored to serve as your president and wish to personally thank all of you for your support of the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Aesthetic Surgery (ASCDAS). Given the challenging economic times and seeking strength through unity, last year’s annual meeting was combined with that of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS). As those of you who attended last year can attest, it was a resounding success. We have been so pleased that we are going to again combine our annual meeting with the ASDS. The 2010 ASDS/ASCDAS Joint Annual Meeting will take place at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk in Chicago on October 21-24, 2010. This joint meeting looks to be truly outstanding, combining the best of both societies. Included in the meeting is a new educational tract running throughout the meeting entitled “Core Curriculum in Cosmetic Dermatology.” These sessions provide the kind of practical “how to” education in cosmetic dermatology that have made past ASCDAS meetings so memorable. This comprehensive series will have something of value for the beginner as well as the experienced clinician, covering cosmetic dermatology from A to Z. Also, look for our resident scholarship program later this year, providing financial support for residents to attend this year’s joint annual meeting.

Also planned for ASCDAS this year is our first small group certification course in rejuvenation with injectables. The course, “The Art and Science of Facial Injectables,” will take place at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City on May 15-16, 2010. This course will comprehensively cover injectable fillers and botulinum toxin. Small group live demonstrations with leading faculty will be included. The small group format allows students to be up close and ask questions rather than watch a video from a distance. This unique program is offered at a discount to ASCDAS members and free of charge to resident physicians. 2010 Certification Workshop Series

“The Art and Science of Facial Injectables”

May 15-16, 2010

This course is designed to both discuss and demonstrate the latest in products and techniques for cosmetic facial injectables. Each attendee will be presented with the latest information and research on various facial injectable substances by our world-renowned faculty. Most of these injectable substances will also be demonstrated on live patients by our faculty.
